Support This Professor’s Noble Efforts Of Saving Hundreds Of Abandoned Cows

Feel free to ask Campaigner for a new update on this Fundraiser.

    Project

Abandoned by their owners, hundreds of cows and other cattle are forced to live on the streets. They have no other choice but to feed on the garbage. Some of them even eat up plastics and often die a painful death with no one to look after them.

A retired political science professor, Dr. Rajender Attri, has always wanted to help save abandoned cows who can no longer produce milk. So, finally, after his retirement, he opened a gaushala in a small village in Himachal Pradesh in 2020.

How do they help the cows in need?

Him Gau Sanrakshan Samiti is a non-profit that aims to care for stray/abandoned cows, including arranging shelter and fodder, providing medical care, and raising funds for these innocent animals. It is situated in Sanora village in Himachal Pradesh and is home to over 180 cows.

“Their condition will bring you to tears. All their life they have been toiling hard to help their owners and now when they need love and care, they are left on the streets. I want to give these gaumatas a home where they can stay without any worry,” - Dr. Rajender Attri, President, Him Gau Sanrakshan Samiti.

This gaushala in Himachal Pradesh is a unique one which is built in the form of a sanctuary where the cows are taken to the nearby lands to graze. They are at their happiest when living amid nature.

“However, we do have some cows who are too old and in no condition to go to the fields. So with the help of our dedicated staff we take care of them and feed them green fodder.”

You can support these animals in need

Him Gau Sanrakshan Samiti needs your support in looking after the old and abandoned cows in its care and feeding them nutritious food. You can help them by donating green fodder, dry fodder, medicines etc. Every donation that you make will help save hundreds of cows.
